As part of a classroom assignment, I chose to depict a grave for the dreams of children stuck amidst conflict.
In Syria, since the war began, over 24,000 of those who have died are children. One in four schools have been damaged, destroyed, or used for shelter. And 24.5 million years of education have been lost.
When children are more familiar with fighter jets than paper planes,
we know that we're the reason an entire generation has lost its childhood.
